I’ve always wanted to have sprayed edges on my books, but being an indie author in Canada, options have always been limited. Amazon/KDP and Ingram, the two companies that sell my books online to readers and distribute wholesale copies to shops, don’t offer the service. Bookvault UK does, but…hello, they’re in the UK = expensive shipping charges. And what if they arrived damaged after paying all that money?
Well, after seeing other authors rave about Bookvault UK’s service, I decided to try them out. The cost to print each book is double the non-sprayed edges edition cost, but I wanted them SO BADLY that I took the leap, and I’m so happy I did! Check them out! Raccoons strolling up the side edges and hockey sticks on the top and bottom edges. All art created by my wonderful cover designer, fellow Canadian Liz Parkes.
They look SO super cute! God, I love them! I have to say, some of the photos don’t show the colours accurately. The strolling raccoons and hockey sticks are on a light blue background. So pretty.
I wish I could have these sprayed edges on all copies of Love Wants Us to Win, but until Amazon/KDP and Ingram offer the service and make it accessible for Canadian indie authors, these beauties will be limited to my in-person events and the odd giveaway on social media and through my newsletter. As you can imagine, the cost to print these editions is much higher than the regular non-sprayed editions and the wait to receive them here in Canada is longer, so they’re not something I can order in large batches often. BUT I will have these special copies available for purchase at the Love Wants Us to Win launch party at Hopeless Romantic Books on Wednesday, October 21st in Toronto. Right now, this is the ONLY time they will be available!
