Food, glorious food!
My characters like food a little bit TOO much, but hey, that’s one of the reasons why we get along so well! They eat, they drink, and they think about junk food (mostly) far too often.
So, let’s go on a gastronomic tour of the good, the bad, and the downright delicious. Like most of the things and places mentioned in London Belongs to Me and London, Can You Wait?, the food is all real—none of the products are made up. Want to put on your comfy yoga pants? I’ll wait…
- Chips, crisps…the LBTM/LCYW gang are addicted! Monster Munch for Lucy and Cheese & Onion crisps for Freddie
- Cadbury’s everything please, but especially chocolate buttons and mini rolls
- Alex LIVES for Twizzlers from back home in the US; Mark is all about Nutella (actually, Alex is too in LBTM)
- Alex’s Pizza Express birthday dinner (LBTM)
- Pizza Express Dough Balls (LBTM)
- Alex’s birthday cake at Pizza Express (LBTM)
- Alex’s Mac Attack grilled cheese sandwich at Northern Soul Grilled Cheese in Manchester (LBTM)
- So good, it deserves TWO photos. That thing is filled with mac ‘n’ cheese!
- Cheese & Onion Lattice! Alex’s fave! (LBTM)
- Pret a Manger is not only the company Lucy works for, but it’s also a go-to place for the gang
- Alex’s kiddie cheese sandwich on white bread from Kitchen in the National Theatre (LBTM)
- Freddie’s red velvet cake at Kitchen (LBTM)
- Alex’s hot chocolate from Freestate Coffee where she met up with Harry (LBTM)
- Alex says Mark eats all the Jaffa cakes. They’re biscuits with sponge and orange jam inside, covered in chocolate
- Lucy’s Moo & Blue pie from Pieminister at Borough Market (LCYW)
- Alex’s Fish Finger Bap from the Marquis Cornwallis (LCYW)
- Freddie was caught on social media eating Cheesy Wotsits (LCYW)
- Alex’s comfort eating of Twizzlers & Percy Pigs candy doesn’t quite go to plan in LCYW
- Alex’s Terry’s Chocolate Orange
- Curly Wurly – a Freddie fave chocolate and caramel bar (LCYW)
- A certain quote from a certain loved up young man (LCYW)
- Anniversary cookies from Biscuiteers in Notting Hill
- Hot chocolate with ALL the marshmallows *ahem* Alex wasn’t REALLY talking about hot chocolate! (LCYW)
- Jamie Oliver’s Crispy Italian Nachos (LCYW)
Feeling hungry…or should I say peckish? 😉
